I do every year in anticipation of seeing a pipe band or two but as usual pipe bands on close to the bottom of the pecking order when it comes to the likes of all the lip sinkers in front of Macy's. Just one year I wish I could see a pipe band playing an entire tune instead of we will be right back after these messages as you see the PB in the background. %$#@&! |

| On WGN - whatever cable channel that is- they had the Thanksgiving parade from Chicago down State Street. In contrast to balmy NYC, It was snowing in Chicago. There was at least one pipe band that I heard, plus some Highland and Irish dancing groups. But, the best was the "Barefoot Hawaiian Hula" dancers from DesPlaines- the girls were wearing grass skirts over track suits, but the guys were actually barefoot in grass kilts, flourishing their flaming batons - great stuff (even if they're probably all Poles in the club). |

Speaking of ethnic diversity.... I was watching the Colorado Buffs thump the Cornhuskers last Friday. The linebackers couch for Colorado is a native Hawaiin and was wearing a Hawaiian tribal sarong standing on the sidelines..... the temperature was in the 20's. Talk about a tough dude!!!!. Actually it was kind of cool looking but I'm sure he gots some weird looks and the usual, "Hey Nice Skirt", from the local pin heads.........
