Halfway to St. Patty's Day

Dunedin Brewery is having a Halfway to St. Patty's Day party tomorrow starting at 4PM. Three bands will be there, pipers will be there, I'LL be there! Also, Julie, Doug, Rhonda, and John to name a few more. Cool

They are advertising that members of the Tampa Bay Pipes & Drums will be there performing so come by and see who that might be since I have absolutely no idea!!! Shocked

If I had more advanced notice I most likely would have attended, I realize You probabaly only found out late as well. If they advertised us how come we didn't know sooner???.

Since we are on the subjsct who is the band gig coordinator designated person since Gino has taken his sabatacle(sp)??. I'm not volunteering but just interested that maybe this should be someone outside of the band that has more time to devote to this, just a thought. I heard that Dave McCalister may be perfroming these duties, is that correct??.

Ashley Brinton is our new band manager and her first official duty will be to line up people for the Sept. 29 Largo performance.

I didn't know until Friday that we were even listed - but I don't think the other bands listed knew either. Smile

Those of us that went didn't go to perform we just went to have a good time. That almost happened!

Was that link supposed to = us performing? I really took it as, hey a bunch of people looking for any excuse to have a party will be drinking green beer come hang out.

And really...who booked the event from our side?

Your instincts were right on the money Tonya. I was just going to hang out and have a fun evening with whoever else wanted to do the same. There was no expectation for us to show up and perform as a band gig.

I saw an ad in one of the papers or Creative Loafing, but I also thought it was nothing to do with us. When they said local bands, I thought they meant Celtic-rock type bands, not SUSPBA type.

And, just to confirm, I am NOT the event scheduler for TBP&D -

I just occasionally try to remind us, myself included, of what may be on the horizon. The best surprise is no surprise, as evidenced by this apparent Dunedin brewery faux pas. This is from my own perspective of what I think is important- ie which Games we will compete at, the Rennaisance Festival, intellegent St. Patty's plan, annual plug for attending the Savannah Games, AGM, etc. Items I don't personally care about get short shrift from me, so don't count on completeness. Let this (Dunedin) be a lesson to those who are interested in particular events - you need to promote them, even inside the band. Whether it be a memorial like the Hillsborough Sheriff's, Largo Military Aprreciation Day, a parade like Gasparilla or Chasco, a paying performance, or whatever. Do not assume someone else will cover it or even think of it.
