The Time Has Come...

As most of you know my father and I have bought a franchise of Mr. Empanada. On Moday August 20th, we sign the lease for a location in Bloomingdale/Brandon - address to come later. I am resigning as band manager effectively August 22nd 2007. I am also resigning as an active member of Tampa Bay Pipes and Drums. Hopefully, if I can handle the repetoire, and if Steve will permit it, I will be back as an active member in the next few years. This has been the hardest part about this life/career change I have had to accept...This is probably the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life is to say 'goodbye' to all of you. Every single one of you means something to me: A friend, an instructor, an advisor, an insultor, Gator fans, Seminole fans, drinkers, tea-totalers, elders, a spiritual adivisor(s), and bright eyed youths (this band's future).. No matter who you are, no matter what part you may think you have played in this band, you've all played a part in my life, you all are my friends. I can say this, with absolutely honestly, I have never been so proud to be part of any organization - EVER. A bright spot in all this - for those of you that may be morose - with the exception of Razor Wink, Aimee will not be resigning as I am. Aimee has experienced far too little of the pipe band world for me to even consider asking her to leave it in her infancy. She will be going to as many competitions/performances and practices etc..... She deserves to know the joys of the pipe band world that I have known for the last 20 something years. I will see all of you Wednesday August 22nd, 2007 - for a big hug or a hearty handshake, and a goodbye....

I Love You

Yeah. Leaving sucks Gino. I know just how you feel. Now imagine leaving for a place where it gets to 30 below in winter and snowfall is measured in feet. Now imaging piping in it. Mad Miss you guys alot.

It makes me sad when good people leave the band - unfortunately everyone in our band are good people so it's rough when anyone leaves.

We'll be here when you're ready to come back - hopefully not too long from now!

I know what you mean Steve. I am looking for a position back home but I have a lot of competition from other folks who want to move to Florida. I am playing up here but it isin't the same. You guys were my family. Playing with another band feels like cheating, lol. Hey Gee No, man I can almost smell the grease all the way in Minnesota, call me sometime and let me know what's going on. I miss you brother.
